Mental Health and Support

Record levels of young people are struggling. Academic pressure, social media, bullying, poverty, lack of availability of professional mental health support – all have been named by various sources as contributing to this epidemic of poor mental health in our young people.

Here at Greenpark Academy, we have three Mental Health Leads: who want to create a future where we all know how to look after our own mental wellbeing, so preventable issues don’t arise in the first place. A future where every young person has access to support if they need it.

We know life throws us 'curve balls' on occasions and we are here to support our young people and families throughout more challenging times. We can also signpost families to organisations in order to gain more specific support.

Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) are a new service designed to help meet the mental health needs of children and young people in primary, secondary and further education (primarily for ages 5 to 18). We are fortunate to have their support already in place as one of the pilot schools.
